The pendant has a fairly long bail shaped like the top of an exclamation mark and the main shape of the main pendant is a little like a teardrop with a pointed tip and the end. There are 2 'frames' of gold around the large oval cut amethyst, the inner frame has 4 clips which hold the amethyst in place and which are positioned approximately at 2, 5, 7 and 10 o'clock. A second frame identical to inner frame just wider and longer, sits outside the inner frame. The chain is a nice box chain with good thickness which compliments the pendant perfectly.
