The top of the jar and base area are natural stoneware pottery whilst the central area is a beautiful shade of green called shiwan which is like a dark forest green with a hint of jade.3 of the 6 sides are on display. There is a foliage theme to the decoration on the 6 sides of the pot under the green glaze. A single white orchid is displayed just off centre to the bottom right.

Main photo of long cultured pearl necklace displayed draped over an abalone shell. The 14 karat gold clasp area is in the centre foreground and it has 3 cultured pearls to the top with the central one looking slightly larger than the other 2. The pearls on the necklace are all uniform in size and of a creamy colour with a slight yellow tinge. Nice long necklace perfect for evening or roaring 20s dressing up dates.

Main photo of Victorian uranium glass basket seen from the side decorated with pink glass flowers and butterscotch glass leaves, stalks and handles. The handle appears to be part of the foliage like a vine stalk. The uranium glass is the actual basket which could appear like the lower half of a hard boiled egg. The colour could be described as milky minty yellow. The wonderful thing about this item is that whilst this side is decorated with flowers, the opposite side is without decoration so on your 'no bling' days you can opt for egg shell.

Main photo of Murano uranium glass ashtray seen from a slight side and raised angle. The flat side of the bowl is in the top right corner and the bulbous side in the bottom right. This ashtray has 2 cigarette rests on one side and 1 rest to the centre of bulbous area. Quite a mystery! The outside of ashtray is a milky opalescent colour whilst the inside is a lemon curd yellow. Set against a black background, these colours become more prominent.

Q & A

A 19th-century Chinese ginger jar is a stunning piece of stoneware with a green glaze that covers just the area around the middle of the pot. A statement piece that will display beautifully on a shelf near a sunny windowsill to showcase its beauty.
To care for the 19th-century Chinese ginger jar, we recommend using a soft cloth to remove dust accumulation.
