The c1870 vulcanite locket is mid-Victorian when it was popular to commemorate a loved one by inserting photos into such lockets. The mourning locket has an ‘in memory of’ engraving on its front and is a sad piece of jewellery from the Victorian era. The locket is now a collectable piece and would display well in a cabinet with similar mourning pieces. To care for the c1870 vulcanite locket use a soft cloth and polish it when necessary.
