Victorian brass vesta box. A handsome solid brass vesta box for in house use. Probably kept by bedside or on the mantle piece- anywhere on hand to light the candles at dusk. Very nice simple design with aesthetically pleasing form. The striker appears to have had a lot of use and may need replacing. Measures 58mm long and 43mm wide at base tapering slightly to 48mm by 36mm on the lid with a height of 30mm.
