Vintage sterling silver booted leg shaped pipe tamper. A solid sterling silver novelty pipe tamper in the form of a highway mans boot wearing leg! Assumed to be a copy of an earlier Georgian example. Hallmarked for London assay c1981. 28grams. Main photo of leg tamper shown vertically laid with the boot end in the centre bottom of the photo. The leg is bent at the knee and the top of the boot provides a natural grip handle when tampering the pipe. The boot is very realistic with ruched areas above the heel area.
