This piece of studio art is incredible. The bird looks as though it would be warm and soft if touched, the tin can looks like it would be cold and hard and the rocks smooth and cool. Even the sparrows eye looks as though it will move any moment. Incredibly realistic fabulous piece!

He is carrying a large carp which is being carried in his left hand and his right hand is holding his fishing rod which is held over his shoulder with a basket on the end. There is a serene happy look about his face. The boxwood is a warm chestnut brown colour and the carving detail is of good quality. There is a rock of blue lapis lazuli in the background to offer a feeling of a lake.

Main photo of small Doulton chimney vase seen from an eye level. The main body of the vase is a stunning mixed shade of lapis lazuli blue and amethyst purple with flecks of green. Around the top of the vase (about 2inches) is a grey green stone colour with a lovely simple design in piped black with green circles. To me, these look like cartoon characters of birds (green balls at top, beak below) or cat (green balls for eyes at bottom triangles above like ears. There are also fish like forms between the bird/cat images that I can see)

The feet are chevron shaped although this is only visible from the base and protrude a little from the box base. The box is displayed in front of a rock of natural desert sand rose which is partially reflected in the box lid.

The earrings construction begins with an 18 karat gold hook fastener. Am oval iolite cabochon with a small round cut diamond to the centre is first followed below it by a larger round cut diamond divider. At the bottom of the earring is a square iolite cabochon set with one corner at top like diamond shape and there is another small round cut diamond to the centre of this. The iolite is a beautiful darker blue with tinges of purple in certain light.
