Sterling silver compact and matching cigarette case from 1937 Coronation. A wonderful pair of sterling silver and guilloche enamel items to commemorate the coronation of George VI. The compact is without powder and has a mirror in near perfect condition. It does not close shut. Measures 70mm by 67mm. The cigarette case has a gilt interior which is a little worn and original elastic which has lost its elasticity and matches the gilt interior. It measures 82mm by 68mm. The enamel on both pieces is immaculate without flaws. They are both fully hallmarked for Birmingham assay and made by Adie Bros c1936. There is an additional hallmark of a lion passant to the opener on the cigarette case.
