Continental silver topped sugar sifter. Lovely Art Deco sugar sifter with heavy crystal glass bottom and 835 silver top. Full hallmark to the side of the silver top believed to be of German origin. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

The decorative detail on the silver is quite minimalist by Art Nouveau style standards but unmistakeably visible in a subtle capacity. The lower end of the frame is widest tapering a little at the top. The photo area remains a uniform rectangular shape. The minimal decoration consists of 3 raised lines with small ribbony areas to each corner as well as at the centre along the top and bottom. Definitely a frame that is simplistically pretty but also will not detract from the image at all. Nice gift item - just add photo!

The continental silver-topped sugar sifter is a stunning art Deco piece of tableware. The sugar sifter has an 835-grade silver hallmark on its lid possibly from Germany. The body of the sifter is in crystal glass giving it a wonderful shine and sparkle when the light hits it. The continental silver-topped sugar sifter would display well on the dining table and would also make a wonderful antique gift. To care for the sugar sifter we suggest a light polish on the lid and gently wash the glass body as required.
