  • Victorian brooch in carved jet and bone. A substantial sized brooch of beautifully carved Whitby jet with an intricately carved bone detail of a stag applied to the centre. The stag is central to a frame of flora with a tree to the background. This is craftsmanship of the highest order and remains in excellent condition. Believed to be from the Grand Period of the Victorian era c1861-1880. Tube hinge and c clasp fastening with extended pin. Close up photo of the stag and flora frame surrounding him. The intricate detailing of the fine carving is very visible. Victorian brooch in carved jet and bone.
