The stag is central to a frame of flora with a tree to the background. This is craftsmanship of the highest order and remains in excellent condition.     Victorian brooch in carved jet and bone. A substantial sized brooch of beautifully carved Whitby jet with an intricately carved bone detail of a stag applied to the centre. The stag is central to a frame of flora with a tree to the background. This is craftsmanship of the highest order and remains in excellent condition. Believed to be from the Grand Period of the Victorian era c1861-1880. Tube hinge and c clasp fastening with extended pin.
