Carved Lapis Figural Sculpture
A vintage figural sculpture carved from a single rock of lapis lazuli. The figure of a young male sat on a rock with waves lapping and a single large fish leaping from the water. A swatter appears to be in his right hand and left hand is raised – an indication of courage and protection. There has been some a repair to his right arm other visible cracks are a natural part of the lapis stone. Illegible signature to the back. Measures 95mm at longest, 50mm at deepest and 132mm tall. Weight 531 grams.
