Palais Royale Sewing Box
£250.00
Main photo looking at the box from a slight height and looking diagonally downward at design on the lid. At the centre, is a male to the left with female in period clothing. The man is holding the ladies hand with one hand and in the other he has his hat. He is wearing boots, a long coat and also has a sword in his belt. Perhaps a sailor? The lady is in a long dress and holding a rather large fan which obscures the upper part of her body. Her hair is tied up in a bun and she appears a little coy at being courted. Very sweet scene with a lot of scrollwork around the. Add to basket

Old Sheffield Plate Pot
£325.00
Main photo of French repousse jewellery casket displayed from a near eye level with the front opening side facing towards the bottom left and one side visible facing the bottom right corner. The casket sits on 4 feet which appear quite dainty for the solid and heavily embossed (repousse) casket. The base and top of lid jut out a little over the main body of the casket. The scenes on the sides show a lone bird, possible a peacock upright and looking towards the other side which shows a cockerel with 2 hens in a yard with a prowling fox on the very left. Some of the silver plate has worn off and the copper hue is coming through on the hens breasts and a small patch on the head of the cockerel and fox. This wear and copper exposure adds extra depth & charm to the casket. Add to basket

French Repousse Jewellery Casket

Main photo of William Lestourgeon silver box looking diagonally down from above to show the aventurine glass top. The main colour of the glass is a rich blue with small patches of copper coloured glittery specks. The silver around the aventurine glass has fine floral engravings all around whilst the rest of the box is in plain silver. Aventurine glass can feel like plastic as it is a man-made material very not to be mistaken for the crystal aventurine. Read moreOut of stock

Main photo of Limoges triple cherry box displayed in front of a twig (which coincidentally is cherry!) The cherries and their leaves and stems have been so realistically painted and look so lifelike there is a danger of wanting to eat them. The cherries are mainly an orange-red with a small yellow area at the top by their stem ends. The stems are a light leaf green, joined at the top by a short light brown stalk. In between each stem is a cherry leaf painted in 3 shades of green and showing the veins. A brass band hugs the 3 cherries in the middle with a small brass flower at the front opening section.
