Norwich Assay Office was a historical, provincial facility. That tested and hallmarked precious metals from 1565 until it permanently closed in 1702.
The Town mark was a castle surmounting a lion passant.
Norwich silver is now extremely rare. With important surviving pieces only available to view at The Castle Museum and Art Gallery.
