Tobacciana & Brewiana

Products advertising tobacco products and brewery/alcohol products is know as Tobacciana & Brewiana.

Since the tobacco advertising ban of 1965 and further bans thereafter,  tobacciana, products with cigarette brand names, have become quite a rarity. They used to be everywhere; on water jugs, ashtrays at the pub, lighters & matches. Now, vanished!

Brewiana, on the other hand, is still legally advertisable. With brand names on multitude of products even clothing!

We get a selection of both tobacciana and brewiana products coming through the store.

The striker for this silver coloured lighter is a long roller type that extends down almost one whole corner of the lighter. The overall design of the lighter is slimline; long & slender for easy hold. It is in good working order. The Pierre Cardin logo is on the top of the flip open lid. The original box is bigger than the lighter itself although probably perfect in relevance to size. It has a curved edge on one corner giving it a slick design of its own not to be outdone by the lighter it holds! A lovely gift item. Add to basket

Main photo of antique Victorian pipe displayed inside its case with the mouthpiece just sticking out over the edge. The open lid of the case is being propped open by a rock of desert sand rose. The inside is moulded and covered in olive green velvet. Although the end of the pipe is slightly sticking out over the end, it is clearly visible that a segment of the pipe is missing. This would be the clay bowl where the tobacco goes. It should be possible to find a replacement or make a new bowl. Add to basket
