Main photo of French repousse jewellery casket displayed from a near eye level with the front opening side facing towards the bottom left and one side visible facing the bottom right corner. The casket sits on 4 feet which appear quite dainty for the solid and heavily embossed (repousse) casket. The base and top of lid jut out a little over the main body of the casket. The scenes on the sides show a lone bird, possible a peacock upright and looking towards the other side which shows a cockerel with 2 hens in a yard with a prowling fox on the very left. Some of the silver plate has worn off and the copper hue is coming through on the hens breasts and a small patch on the head of the cockerel and fox. This wear and copper exposure adds extra depth & charm to the casket. Add to basket
