The tourmaline is a grey/black colour and in a natural crystalline form and not polished smooth. The silver frame around the tourmaline is relatively thin in comparison but nicely executed with a plain flat silver frame around the edge of the tourmaline followed by a twisted silver band and finally set on a smooth round edged silver main frame.
