There are a total of 11 cranes, 1 being a colt (baby crane). 10 of the 11 birds are in the water with one on the far right flying into land. The background is mostly golden with the lake a light ink blue with flow lines giving the water movement. The cranes are mixed in colour from the all white to white headed with brown body and of course the little colt which is mostly brown still. All except the colt have a red spot on the heads. The outer edge of the screen has a silk band and the corners are reinforced with brass.

The pear or tear drop cut stones are set top to tail diagonally to the left and right of the band and held at the middle with a short gold divider. The ring shoulders are wider than the rest of the ring band to accommodate the diagonally set stones. The shoulders have 2 parts ; a shorter one with the wider end of the stone set in and a longer almost water droplet like extended piece which runs along the side of one pear shaped stone with the pointed ends at the centre. The ring appears like it has a split band but is solidly set as a whole ring.

On the right are the 2 cups and saucers one in front of the other. The tea/coffee pot is tall with a bulbous area at the bottom only. The spout protrudes from this area and reaches up to the same level as the rim at top. The lovely curved handle starts at the top rim, extends slightly above the rim and then downward finishing on the bulbous lower area. The set is white with gilt rose decorations known as the Golden Glory pattern and gilt around the rims and handles. It is in very good condition for its age. Lovely gift item for a wedding anniversary or wedding.
