The tourmaline is a grey/black colour and in a natural crystalline form and not polished smooth. The silver frame around the tourmaline is relatively thin in comparison but nicely executed with a plain flat silver frame around the edge of the tourmaline followed by a twisted silver band and finally set on a smooth round edged silver main frame. This brooch is all about the tourmaline! Black tourmaline is renowned for grounding the mind, relieving stress and shielding from negativity. Owing to its size and weight, this brooch would ideally suit a heavy overcoat or jacket.

She is definitely a statement here She is kneeling with head and body facing right. Her arms are extended above her head where she holds a ball of lapis lazuli. The wings extend from behind the torso to the left and right and the tips of these are where the chain of the necklace is attached. 2 smaller lapis beads are added approximately 2 inches above the wing tips and then the chain continues all the way to the clasp. Below the goddess is a long water droplet shaped bead of lapis lazuli which hangs from the centre completing the look.

Like the diamond suite in a pack of cards, it is longer vertically. The cuff has 3 silver lines which join at the cuff ends. The 2 silver feathers, one on each side of the red onyx, sit top to tail to each other. One the left, the tip of the feather leans alongside the top lean of the onyx diamond shape and to the right, the feather tip leans alongside the lower lean of diamond shape. The ends of those feathers curl slightly outward and attaches onto the opposite silver band.

The main focus of this piece is without question the pendant. The carved ruby is a deep pink-almost cerise in colour and beautifully carved into a flower which covers the whole space. Around the floral ruby is a frame of silver with an outer edge of multiple coloured sapphires which include pink, blue, yellow, white and these enhance the floral ruby further. Above the ruby flower and multi coloured sapphire area is a bail separated section of 3 pearls (one at top and 2 below in a triangular formation) with a single pink sapphire at the centre. Above this is the generously sized large bail. The snake chain is suitable for this pendant and holds the weight well.

The box has a blue exterior, an almost black blue velvet inner and white silk lined inside the lid with Garrard & Co details in gilt. The larger of the link squares are on the outer extremes and the smaller squares inside. The cufflinks design - all uniform except size - square shaped but with rounded edges. A carved rock crystal sits in the centre of each also round-cornered squares. The carving in the crystal is lines emanating from the small round cut diamond at the centre. Around the perimeter is a frame of Channel set sapphires and all set in 18 karat white gold. Each area, the diamond, the rock crystal and the sapphires are separated with a white gold frame - the frame around the diamond is plain white gold whereas the frames around the rock crystal and sapphires have notches all the way around. An incredibly striking pair of cufflinks for the discerning man in your life!
